These are all names for small programs which find their way onto your PC and can cause all sorts of problems. Some stop you from getting to the internet. or direct you to unsuitable web sites.

Some will offer to scan your PC "for free" and then find many viruses or trojans and ask you to buy a program for $59.99 or $79.99 before you can remove them.

Others may stay hidden from view and record all you online and banking passwords to be sent to the programmer when requested.

A recent development is that a company may call you to say that they have noticed "suspicious activity" from your computer. This is a scam in which they will try and offer you a service and collect sensitive data from you. For more details watch this video.

Whenever you find a suspicious program or activity on your PC you should make a note of the name of the program, shut down the PC and contact us.

We really are "Microsoft Certified Technicians" and with the techniques which we have developed we have been able to remove many of these types of infections using our standard malware cleaning procedure for £40.

However there are some which include advanced "rootkits" which are more difficult to fully remove.

For these, Microsoft recommends a full hard drive format followed by a windows reinstallation. This advanced service is available for £80.

After the advanced service we will need to re-install all programs or games which you have added since the PC was first bought, together with copies of your documents from your backup. So we will need copies of your CDs and installed programs licence codes

Not only can you schedule it to scan your computer automatically, but you can also configure it to provide real-time protection, which helps stop harmful software from installing on to your computer.

At all times it is important to make sure that you have an up to date back up of your word documents, spreedsheets, photographs and videos etc.

We can back up to 8 Gb of data, photographs and music for £30 if required before reinstallation.
